Light and airy, the additions and alterations of Kent House, Waverley has transformed an otherwise old run down terrace house. Studio Schelp has maintained the front facade which conceals the marvel of the architecture beyond. The low maintenance material selection is hardy and suitable for the young family residents.
The northern light is brought into the rear living areas via a central courtyard and double volume space which separates the old from the new. Every room has openings which frame the water view to the south. Kent House is a testament to what architecture can achieve. A re-imagined environmentally conscious space for living which maintains awareness of its past.
