What are Safety Reports?

Safety Reports provide a visual and unobtrusive inspection and subsequent Work Health and Safety Report to allow the strata building the control measures to prevent and minimise identified hazards and associated risks present, and that may occur in the future within the common property of the building.

When are Safety Reports Necessary?

Safety Reports can help owners’ corporations to prevent and minimise the level of any present or potential risks in the common property of a building.

Strata properties are PCBUs (person conducting business or undertaking) where they employ someone and have obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and this is when a Safety report becomes crucial.

Should Safety Reports be Reviewed?

Regular reviews of safety reports and the recommended and implemented control measures are essential, especially in the following scenarios:

• Changes to the strata building, whether physical or in use.
• Ineffective or inadequate control measures.
• Incidents or the emergence of new risks.
