About Samuel

Samuel Star is the Founder and Director of Archi-QS, bringing more than three decades of industry experience in quantity surveying, strata building bond inspector, regulated design practitioner, Tax depreciation, project advisory and risk management. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for guiding complex and high-risk developments to successful completion, particularly in distressed and financially sensitive environments. His strategic oversight and disciplined approach to governance have made Archi-QS a reliable advisor to lenders and project stakeholders alike.

A fellow of Australian institute of Quantity Surveyors (FAIQS) and a Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS), Member of the AIQS Strata Building Bond Inspection Panel SBBIS, Certified ATO Tax depreciation Specialist, member of the AIQS College of expert witness panel, and a Member of the Dept of Fair-Trading regulated design practitioner. Samuel offers comprehensive expertise across the full spectrum of the built environment services. His experience spans varied project types, scales and procurement models, enabling him to adapt to diverse client and funding requirements. He is a trusted representative on lender panels for major and regional financial institutions where he ensures compliance with banking standards, credit risk protocols and structured reporting frameworks.

As the Senior Manager at Archi-QS, Sarah spearheads our team with unparalleled expertise, distinguishing us as the only quantity surveying firm with architects on the management board. Sarah’s multifaceted role encompasses architectural insight, policy acumen, and leadership.

With a robust background as the Nominated Architect for Archi-QS and NSW Design Practitioner, Sarah ensures that each project benefits from a holistic approach, blending architectural precision with strategic guidance informed by policy insights. This unique combination enables us to set new standards of excellence and deliver unparalleled value to our clients.

As a SIP Building Inspector and General Building Consultant, she’s qualified to act as a building inspector and assist in all stages of the Strata Building Bond and Inspections Scheme. She also takes the lead as a strata services specialist, overseeing all the projects and providing guidance to the team.

Furthermore, Sarah is a thought leader, actively contributing to relevant publications and hosting seminars to share valuable insights with clients and industry peers.
